About Us
Dear Neighbors,
Parks and Recreation wants you to be informed as our community gears up to partake in their favorite recreation activities. We look forward to assisting you with your recreational needs by offering programs and events for your entire family, whether that be indoors or outside in a grassy park in the sun.
If you're a spectator, the 3C Event Complex (formerly the fairgrounds) has many events your family will love from the 4H shows and sales, Cantaloupe Festival, Quick Draw contest, many rodeos and horse events, not to mention The Rural Rumble. With our facilities you can easily reserve rooms and buildings for your own special events.
Every year Parks and Recreation offers youth sport camps in basketball, tennis, football, and soccer, including a winter fast pitch clinic. SumFun and CARE are a great way for your children to enjoy their time over the summer or after school.
The SumFun program takes field trips with friends and has daily activities with camp counselors. The CARE program allows students to complete homework after school and to enjoy activities such as trips to the aquatic center.
If you need to cool off, stop by Churchill County Aquatic Center. It is a great place to take the family for open swim, lap swim, or any of the many aquatic classes that are offered for all ages. We have a great learn-to-swim program that is offered though the American Red Cross program, including life guarding courses.
Don't forget to prepare for our endurance event including the Dust Devil Sprint Triathlon, Turkey Trot, New Year's Day 5K, The No Hill Hundred and many other events throughout the year.
There is something going on every single week so join us!
