Cigna Medical Insurance
Churchill County pays 100% of employee-only coverage for the base medical plan (Open Access 1500) offered through Cigna. Employees may purchase dependent coverage, with the employee paying 100% of the dependent premiums through payroll deduction. Employees may also choose to "buy up" to a slightly richer plan (Open Access 750) for $28.78 per month, or they may choose the high-deductible plan (HSA 2700/2800) with a Health Savings Account. For Fiscal Year 2023-24, the county will contribute $166.00 per month ($1,992 per year) into an employee’s Health Savings Account.
Cigna Dental Insurance
Churchill County also pays 100% of employee-only coverage for the base dental plan offered through Cigna. Employees may purchase a buy-up plan if they choose. The slightly richer plan would cost the employee $12.14 per month (for employee-only coverage). The buy-up plan includes orthodontia coverage for children (below 19 years of age) in the amount of $1,500 for each covered child’s lifetime.
The Cigna website contains a wealth of information, including a way to find medical care providers.
