More accurate total test numbers available from state
Since March, the State of Nevada has improved their data collection and reporting to a point that it is more accurate in regard to total tests performed than what county officials can gather on their own. While Churchill County’s positive COVID case numbers have been absolutely accurate, the county has struggled of late to receive consistent reports on all testing done within the county by our various healthcare entities. Now, Churchill County is receiving current and accurate information from the state on the total number of tests performed by all entities here.
Moving forward, Churchill County will report total tests (as reflected on the state’s COVID website) including total positives since March, current active positives, total asymptomatic positives since March, recoveries, deaths, and total number of COVID tests performed (symptomatic and asymptomatic).
Those numbers for today are:
- Total Positives (since March): 23
- Current Active Positives: 13
- Total Asymptomatic Positives (since March): 8
- Recoveries: 9
- Deaths: 1
- Total Tests Performed: 2,744
Continue social distancing, mask protocols
Churchill County officials continue to urge county residents and businesses to practice social distancing and mask requirements as outlined by the Governor’s Office. People in vulnerable populations and those who need to take extra precautions, as defined by the CDC, should strongly consider sheltering in place and limiting in-person social interaction.
