Nevada Green Tech Startup Caps 2021 with $25M in Defense Contract

EnviroSafe Demil LLC (ESD) of Fallon, Nevada recaps 2021 as a year of success and awards after seeing amazing breakthroughs throughout the year. ESD began 2021 being awarded a 5-year Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract to perform Small Arms Ammunition (SAA) demilitarization services for the Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). This contract pegged ESD as the source for ammunition demilitarization services for the ATF, FBI, DEA, and U.S. Marshal’s.

In May 2021, ESD was announced as a “small business”, major awardee for the U.S. Army’s “Conventional Ammunition Demilitarization” project (CAD 2020) worth an estimated $110M over five years. This contract is also a five-year Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract. ESD will be performing conventional ammunition demilitarization (CAD) services for portions of the U.S. Army’s 20MM, artillery fuzes, and infrared countermeasures/flares stockpile.

ESD’s major contract achievements in 2021 amount to over $25 million in award values with the potential for additional capture value. For a small business start-up that went from $0 to $25 million in contracts, ESD is now emerging as a serious player in the industry and is poised for more growth.

EnviroSafe Demil’s CEO, T.J. Ogden says that 2021 was just the beginning while teasing some announcements in 2022.

Establishing in Churchill County

“We have several major announcements coming in early 2022 and many exciting developments that will certainly turn some heads.” Ogden continued by saying, “We are establishing the future of green demilitarization technology in Nevada with our innovative systems and introducing high-technology careers to Churchill County and the Fallon, Nevada area.” Ogden concluded with, “Our contract awards are achievements that allow us to execute our goal of being the clean alternative to open burning; and 2022 will be the year that we make it a reality.”

ESD is beginning the initial construction development phase for its facility near Fallon, Nevada and anticipating completing construction Summer 2022.

ESD will be utilizing its revolutionary Energetic Activation Unit© (EAU) to perform the demilitarization services. ESD will recover materials from the demilitarization process and recycle the resulting materials upon completion. “Our EAU is a perfect solution to cleanly process these munitions for neutralization, deactivation, and recycling in an environmentally-friendly manner by achieving as much as 97% materials recovery and recycling efficiency”, said Mike Wentz, President. He concluded by saying, “In 2022 we will be rapidly staffing-up, constructing our facility, implementing several innovative capabilities; and we have other major announcements coming soon.”
